May 30, 2003 7:30 p.m. St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral 1245 Tenth Avenue East Don't forget St. Mark's wonderful compline service. Every Sunday evening at 9:30PM in the Cathedral's nave, the all-male Compline Choir leads this formal choral service that is a Seattle tradition. |
All Bach program includes such blockbusters as the Prelude and Fugue in D Major, the Fantasy and Fugue in G Minor and Prelude and Fugue in E Minor, "The Wedge". Performed on St. Mark's fabulous Flenthrop organ comprised of 3,944 pipes, ranging in size from 32 feet to less than one inch through 58 speaking stops distributed over four manuals (keyboards) and pedal, this organ is one of the largest 20th century organs employing mechanical key action. It is quite a treat. |
